Hi there!

Welcome!…

… to my personal website/blog/portfolio! Here you will find my thoughts, past works and things I find interesting.  I put this website together for two reasons;

  1. I wanted an accessible and sharable way to quickly share who I am and what I’ve done.
  2. I needed a space to formulate my thoughts and catalog my life for my own personal growth.

I am someone who is methodical and I like to digest the information given to me. I’ve been accomplishing the latter by writing down my thoughts on Google Docs. When the need of the former arose, I thought; what better way to illustrate who I am but by sharing my ponderings?

I hope you enjoy your time perusing my mind.

A little history (quickfire round)

I was born and raised in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. People don’t know where that is so for all intents and purposes, I tell them Philadelphia, which is about half an hour away. Pokemon, Thomas the Tank Engine and My Neighbor Totoro made up my early childhood. My parents let me watch Jurassic Park way too early. Haven’t seen any of them since.

Moved to Hong Kong when I was 8. Attended Kiangsu and Chekiang Primary School (蘇浙小學)for 2nd and 3rd grade then Hong Kong International School (HKIS) for 4th grade. Beyblade, Digimon, Crush Gear and Neopets! First time I read a real book by myself was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. That era of Nintendo systems dominated my free time. Was on a local swim team and played tennis.

My dad’s job moved us back to Pennsylvania, this time Downingtown. For the same reason as Blue Bell, I just say Philadelphia which is also about half an hour away. Attended Uwchlan Hills Elementary School for 5th grade and Lionville Middle for grades 6 and 7. Trained four times a week for the local YMCA swim team. Around the time I came up with my first internet moniker (GarudaNitro) based on my favorite toy. AOL Instant Messenger, my first cell phone, Dance Dance Revolution and Runescape and my first crush. Thought I was going to spend the rest of my life there.

Relocated to Shanghai when I was 14. Spent my teenage years in one of the largest megacities on the planet. Went to Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) until I graduated. Having a language barrier with any one classmate was common, but we all got along. First time surrounded by people like me who have moved around their entire lives. Discovered my love for computers. Self-taught Photoshop off of Google. Self-taught piano off of Wikipedia. Binge played video games and binge watched TV and movies from questionable Chinese sources. Battlestar Galatica, Ragnarok Online and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are some of my favorites from that time.

About me;

I’m an introvert but I’m a people pleaser. At my core I’m a shy nerdy gamer and tinkerer. However late into my teenage years I figured out diversity and unique experiences
